At time of writing, no .club domain names are resolving, instead returning NXDOMAIN errors to browsers, and the registry is reportedly working on fixing whatever ails it. The .club registry accounts for over a million domains, so the problem is affecting a lot of people. This is highly unusual. Entire TLDs do not typically just drop off the internet like this. The .club gTLD was acquired by GoDaddy from .CLUB Domains earlier this year, raising the possibility of some kind of handover-related problem. However, .club was already running on the old Neustar back-end, which GoDaddy acquired last year. UPDATE - Looks like the registry fixed it and .CLUB domains are back online. Two years ago maybe? Which, of course, was awesome for the huge number of IT businesses that jumped on that particular extension. 323 Reply Share ReportSave level 2 * 8h Lurker/enthusiast bet teachers were happy though, as students were doing work and paying attention instead of playing .io games! 128 Reply Share ReportSave Continue this thread level 2 * 3h On a similar topic, one small factor that contributed to us not going with Notion.so for documentation is that .so is the TLD for Somalia, which doesn't have the strongest reputation for stability and security. Not sure it would've stopped us if we were totally in love with Notion (it is nice) but it was a consideration. 12 Reply Share ReportSave Continue this thread level 2 * 4h Could be flaky satellite links to those islands in the middle of the Indian Ocean... ;) 7 Reply Share ReportSave level 2 * 2h DevOps Draw.io moved to Diagrams.net as a result of an incident in 2017: https://www.diagrams.net/blog/move-diagrams-net 2 Reply Share ReportSave level 2 Op * 5h was awesome for the huge number of IT businesses that jumped on that particular extension. Or maybe it's worse, I'm not sure. In 2020 GoDaddy acquired the contract to run the .us TLD from Neustar. So, they should, in theory, know how to do it right. So hopefully they apply their Neustar talent to other TLDs, and don't mess them all up. There is a lot more important stuff on the .us TLD.
