However, it is a rigorous summary of the electronics, so that a global but useful overview can be obtained. In addition, a summary of the electronics of this style also serves to review concepts to professionals or engineers who might have forgotten basic notions. Below is the index with direct links to the different sections. Index 1. Context 2. Definition 3. Specializations in Electronics 3.1 Integrated Circuits 3.2 Analog Electronics 3.2.1 Fundamentals 3.2.1.1 Voltage (v) and Current (i) 3.2.1.2 Meaning of "Analog" 3.2.1.3 Frequency and Phase 3.2.2 Circuit Theory 3.2.2.1 Passive Components 3.2.2.2 Active Components 3.2.3 Other Specializations 3.3 Mixed Signal Electronics 3.3.1 Towards the Digital World 3.3.2 Signal Integrity 3.3.3 Analog-to-Digital and Digital-to-Analog Conversion 3.4 Digital Electronics 3.4.1 Digital Circuit Fundamentals 3.4.1.1 Boolean Algebra 3.4.1.2 Switching Frequency 3.4.1.3 Physical Implementation 3.4.2 Advanced Digital Devices 3.4.2.1 Application-Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) 3.4.2.2 Programmable Logic 3.4.2.3 Micro-controllers and Micro-processors 4. Hardware, Firmware, Software 5. Practical Case 1. Context In general terms, electronics is a very broad and complex specialty that is used in practically any field. For this reason it is practically impossible to fully "summarize" the electronics. This section aims to synthesize, in a simple way but with technical content, the electronic concepts most listened to in this society increasingly influenced by continuous technological advances. The objective is that the reader can understand more clearly the terms related to electronics that are used more and more frequently around us, but whose meaning and relevance are unknown to most. Examples of these terms would be: analog electronics, digital electronics, radio frequency, processors or programmable logic among others. 2. Definition At a fundamental level, electronics is the branch of physics in charge of controlling the flow of charged particles, typically electrons [1] [2]. In practice, electronic engineering uses the highest level manifestations of said flow of charge to provide solutions to problems or needs. Each manifestation-solution binomial gives rise to a specialty within electronics. The meaning of this definition is revealed below.
