in computer science can access it and look at your data. With that in
mind, the most common use of this leak will most likely be mass
fishing. To keep yourself safe, you shouldn't:

  * open unknown links, especially if they were sent to you via texts
    or instant messaging apps
  * send your personal and/or business credentials to anyone you
    don't fully trust
  * trust any call and/or text message sent to your phone number

This leak might also be used to engage in stalking and personal
harassment. You might need to consider changing your phone number if
things get out of hand.

Your phone number has not been found in the leak. This is good, but
you should be worried anyway.

What happened?

In April 2021, a huge dataset of personal data which includes over
500 milion users' details has been published online. The hackers most
likely got a hold of the data a few months ago but they only decided
to publish their findings now. The biggest threat, if your data is in
the dump, would be phishing and personal harassment.

What data has been leaked?

Along with phone numbers, the following data has been leaked:

  * Facebook Account ID
  * Full Name
  * Gender
  * Relationship status
  * Home address and birth location
  * Workplace

Is Facebook still safe to use?

Currently, we don't know if Facebook has fixed the vulnerability
since the company hasn't released any statement regarding the breach.
