Yahoo Answers to shut down May 4, 2021

Yahoo has made the decision to shut down Yahoo Answers. To better
assist you with this transition we've compiled a list of questions
that may come up for you during this process.
 

What's the timeline for this process?

  * April 20th - You won't be able to post new Yahoo Answers
    questions or answer other users' questions.
  * May 4th - The website won't be accessible. If you try to access
    Yahoo Answers on May 4th you'll be redirected to the Yahoo
    homepage.

Will this impact my Yahoo Account or other Yahoo services?

No, these changes are specific to Yahoo Answers. They won't impact
your Yahoo Account or any other Yahoo services.

Where should I go when I have questions in the future?

Visit Yahoo Search for answers and information from the web. For
specific info and resources around the Coronavirus pandemic, please
visit our Yahoo COVID page.

Can I download my Yahoo Answers content?

Yes. Your content must be requested before June 30, 2021. Follow the
instructions for downloading your Yahoo Answers data.

What content is available to me?

Your Yahoo Answers data download will return all user-generated
content including your Questions list, Questions, Answers list,
Answers, and any images. You won't be able to download other users'
content, questions, or answers.

Do I have to download my content?

No, the content download is optional. However, if you choose to
download your Answers content, you must do so before June 30, 2021.

When will I get my Yahoo Answers content?

Our team works as fast as possible to make data available, but it can
take up to 30 days to receive your content download.

I downloaded my Yahoo Answers content, how do I view it?

Your content will be formatted in JSON (JavaScript Object Notation)
and might be hard to look through at a glance. Our article on viewing
and managing your account data can help you understand your data
download.
