CutiePi shell, our mobile UI powered by the open source Qt framework,
turns Raspberry Pi OS into a functional tablet UX while maintaining
compatibility.

It has most basic functions covered, from typing a command in
terminal, connecting to a WiFi hotspot, to logging into web.

Because we care, we designed our own hardware.

The CutiePi board

At the heart of CutiePi is our custom PCB, the CutiePi board.
This Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4 compatible carrier board comes
with features for portable use, and is a proud OSHWA-certified open
source hardware.

Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of apps are supported?

Other than built-in apps and UI designed for the touch screen, we
plan to support Raspberry Pi OS desktop and apps via XWayland.

Does it support other CM4 variants? (for example differnt RAM or eMMC
size)

Currently there's only one configuration of CutiePi tablet which is
CM4 - 2GB RAM Lite (CM4102000), but the device is designed in a way
that's easy to open up the back cover for users to upgrade if they
have another CM4 module of choice.

How's the battery life like?

Initial test shows that with a 5000mAh battery, 50% display
brightness, and WiFi connection, we have reached about 5 hours of
stand-by time.

How's the shipping schedule?

We've started mass production of CutiePi. We'll fulfill the backer
pledges from Kickstarter first, then gradually move on to the second
batch of pre-orders.

What's the target price?

Second batch pre-orders are starting from $199, with a suggested
retail price $229.
