Count the cost friend, and see what God says concerning those who live just for worldly pleasures. Will it pay?
1st. You MAY NOT enjoy it ANOTHER DAY!
BOAST not thyself of tomorrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.
Proverbs 27:1.
2nd. You become the ENEMY OF GOD.
YE adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
James 4:4.
3rd. You reap WHAT YOU SOW.
BE not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
Galatians 6:7, 8.
4th. God calls you A FOOL.
I WILL say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry. But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee.
Luke 12:19-20.
5th. God PLEADS with us.
TURN ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?
Ezekiel 33:11.
6th. God warns us!
This world with all that it has to offer, will soon pass away but he that doeth the will of God “abideth for ever.”
KNOW thou, that for all these things God will bring thee into judgment.
Ecclesiastes 11:9
