All of the following verses show plainly that we are not saved, by “forms” or "ceremonies" but by “receiving and believing Christ as a personal Saviour”. Notice how each verse plainly states this.
Forms come after true faith.
BUT as many as received Him (Christ), to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.
John 1:12.
FOR God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 3:16.
VERILY, verily, I say unto you, he that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, HATH EVERLASTING LIFE, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
John 5:24.
HE that hath the Son HATH LIFE; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
I John 5:12.
THAT if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou SHALT BE SAVED.
Romans 10:9.
FOR with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Romans 10:10.
Belief must be of the heart as well as head.
AND this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.
I John 5:11.
EXAMINE yourselves, whether ye be in the faith.
II Corinthians 13:5.
AND this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
John 17:3.
