Date: March 13,2002 Version: 1.01 =================== Firmware and Configuration Management System upgrade information for the AP8000 File versions ============= Firmware upgrade V1.01 #445 (February 28, 2002) Configuration Management System upgrade V1.01-1 #136 (February 28, 2002) This update corrects the following problems: ============================================ - Performance issues related to the Ethernet interface, switches and 10 mbps full duplex - Crashing of the AP8000 when upgrading the AP8000 using 3NS is now addressed. Note that 3NS at this time does not allow for the upgrade to proceed. There is no scheduled resolution date at this time. Installing the new Firmware and Configuration Management System =============================================================== 1. The new Access Point firmware filename is: op010000.bin 2. The new Configuration Management System filename is: fs010001.bin 3. Locate the upgrade files to a known directory on your computer. 4. Start the TFTP server and point the TFTP server to the directory on the computer that the upgrade files reside. 5. Start the Wireless Infrastructure Device Management (WIDMan) tool. 6. In the Wireless Network Tree, click Refresh, and then select the Access Point again and click Configure. 7. Under Tools, click Upgrade System. 8. Click both Access Point Firmware radio button and the Configuration Management System radio button. 10. Type under the Access Point Firmware heading "File Name" the file: op010000.bin Type under the Configuration Management System heading "File Name" the file: fs010001.bin 11. Type the TFTP server IP address at the prompt: "TFTP Server IP Address" and then click on the "Change" button. 12. Click in the "Upgrade Now" button to initiate the upgrade process 13. Once upgraded, the AP8000 will reboot itself. When prompted, close out the browser
