   Canada's Sophia Jensen won the first world title of her career
   on Saturday at the 2026 ICF Canoe Sprint & Paracanoe World
   Championships in Poznań, Poland.
   The 24-year-old from Chelsea, Que., finished first in the
   women's C1 500-metre final, clocking a time of two minutes 0.78
   seconds to claim the gold medal.
   Agnes Anna Kiss of Hungary won silver in 2:02.80, with bronze
   going to Belarusian Alena Nazdrova (2:04.80).

   Jensen wasn't the only Canadian to claim a medal on Saturday,
   as Ottawa's Brianna Hennessy won bronze in the KL1 women’s 200m
   final with a time of 54.20 seconds.
   Chilean Paralympic champion Katherinne Wollermann (52.23)
   captured gold ahead of China's Maosan Xie (53.92).
