

2. Benchmarking Enemy Territory

2.1 Installing 

It is recommended to install ET to /usr/local/games.

It is not recommended to use an existing installation for
benchmarking unless you know for sure that that it is
a clean installation.


2.2 Preparation

a) Backup your current .etwolf user directory, then delete
or rename it. Now start ET in order to create a
clean .etwolf user directory. Leave the game on the
intro screen.

b) Unpack etbench-0.1.tgz to your home directory


2.3 Benchmarking

Go to ~/utbench and start the benchmark:

     sh etbench.sh <cardname>

This command will make a number of benchmark runs in a row
creates a sub-directory <cardname> including the log files
and the results of all test runs. See next chapter for
details on the results produced.


2.4 Benchmark script details:

This is pretty much the same as for utbench, except that
there is no "details" test suit, because ET comes pretty
much with maximum setting by default.
