# Starting Seeds - Part 5 2022-04-01 This is the continuing saga starting seeds for transplantation into the garden. Today I planted no new seeds... If you take a look in the 'Starting_Seeds_Photo_Album' you will see today's progress. 2022-04-02-calendula_and_motherwort.jpg These are both growing well. I planted the calendula a little early so I'm interested in seeing if run into trouble with them getting root bound before I can transplant them outdoors in their beds which are not prepared, are too wet, cold, and frozen below a couple inches. Fingers crossed! 2022-04-02-kale_peppers_st-stjohnswort.jpg The only seeds that have come up are the two varieties of Kale. Both varieties of peppers and St. John's wort are just waiting. C'mon, up en' at em'! 2022-04-02-licorice.jpg This was a surprise when I checked in on them today. ONE Glycyrrhize glabra has sprouted and reaching for the light. Hang in there little one. 2022-04-02-stinging_nettle.jpg Honestly, I forget if I previously reported these as having sprouted before. I''ll have to check my previous posts. Oh, wait, I can multitask ::)... Yup, this is NEW news. You heard it here first folks, the nettle has sprouted! This is exciting because it is such a nutritive and helpful plant. I include it in the food I cook for my dogs each week and in my nettle tea I drink each week.
