# Starting Seeds - Part 3 2022-03-24 This is the continuing saga starting seeds for transplantation into the garden. Today I planted no new seeds but am deligted to report that the calendula seeds have sprouted! I actually noticed yesterday but didn't get to write about it then. Nothing else has sprouted yet and new new seeds have been planted. I if you take a look in the 'Starting_Seeds_Photo_Album' you will see today's progress. When you look, make sure to note that I only planted calendula in the first three rows of growing medium. The back ones are motherwort and have not sprouted yet; that I can see. Anyway, those calendula seedlings are about 1cm tall and about 12 out of 18 have sprouted so far. I'm surprised after only three days since they were planted. That's all for today. Tomorrow I epxect to start more seeds and maybe move the previously started elderberries, grapes, and blueberries out of the seed starting area. I'm honestly not sure how well those are doing. The proof is in the roots right now and I guess I'll see how many sprout leaf buds. I'll try to remember to share their progress when I know more.
