   What a week! Blimey. We've been the busiest
   bees on the planet and haven't had time to
   research a full newsletter, but there were
   some items that are so good that we couldn't
   save them until next week. So here it is: Baby

 : HOW RICH ARE YOU?
   Just give us your fucking money, alright?

   "I've been thinking about how to raise money
   for charities via the web for a couple of
   years now.
   "I thought the nice idea would be to ask people
   how much they earned and tell them exactly
   how rich they are. Hopefully to guilt trip
   people into giving their spare cash to
   charity.
   "So me and my team built it and convinced
   CARE International to take any money we
   generate for them."
  
   Wow. This isn't ordinary b3ta fodder, but
   seeing such a simple and powerful idea
   executed so effectively makes us go woo.

   Say it with bums
   Manic has been hanging about on the b3ta boards
   for a couple of years and he's always cooking
   up odd little schemes to embarrass politicians.
   His latest? Apparently George W. Bush is
   planning to make a UK visit in the autumn.
   Manic wants you to show him your arse.
   We don't give a stuff about politics but we
   do like the idea of turning a state visit
   into a PR disaster.

 : WAR OF THE WORLDS
   Jaunty pub rock stylee
   The 70s were great. Pop stars could get away
   with anything. They could snort cocaine
   off dwarves' heads and make rock operas. They
   must have been like pigs in shit.
   Mystery Bob has been getting into the prog
   action and written a song - a jaunty little
   number about H.G. Wells's War of the Worlds.
   We like the bit with the dog best.

 : OTHER THINGS THAT HAVE MADE US GAWP THIS WEEK
   * VIKING TV DOCUMENTARY - they gave a guy
     magic mushrooms to test the theory that
     berserkers were tripping. He stopped being
     able to hit stuff with a spear. Now THAT'S
     SCIENCE.
   * CAT MAN AND HIS HATERS - also on TV we
     watched a fantastic BBC documentary about
     people who keep wild animals. Esmund Gay
     - a breeder of Bengal cats - particularly
     caught our imagination. He wouldn't go
     out at night and he carved a dead pet's
     name in his arm. Read about his enemies
     on his own website.

   * SQUIRREL GUTS ON TOAST - we've known about
     London restaurant St John for a while now.
     Their USP is serving offal-based-meals
     including spleen and chitterling. This
     collection of reviews made us wince.
