Watching 2001 for probably the 20th time and I just picked up on something I can't believe I missed. In this meeting he tells them they are all on indefinite lockdown and sworn to secrecy. The top couple guys fly off to look at the discovery on the moon first-hand. They start eating lunch and the one guy tells him "Great Speach, I am sure it boosted moral!". Haywood thanks them for handling everything so well so far. Same guy then kisses his ass about how they are happy to do it just like he wanted. Then they pull out maps and talk about the discovery in the moon.
WTF!?!?
Why would they just be looking at those maps now? What did they talk about in the rest of the briefing after Floyd told everyone they were not leaving the moon for a very long time. Is the Ham sandwich eater on the right just kissing his butt hoping to get a pass back to earth? Lots of questions.
