Social media platforms are useful for quick updates, sharing images, and
connecting with people, but they fall short in one important way: you are not
actually building anything.

A social-media post becomes part of an endless, chaotic river of information.
Friends and family may see it for a moment, but then the algorithm sweeps it
away. A personal website offers something different.


1. OWNERSHIP OF YOUR MEMORIES

On social media, you hand your photos, thoughts, and digital footprint to a
company that profits from them. You can only hope they survive policy changes,
