Not every interaction should be forced through HTTP. Real-time chat can live on IRC. A long-lived text archive can live on Gopher. Remote administration belongs on SSH. A MUD can be a world instead of a webpage pretending to be one. Choose the interaction model first, then the protocol and interface.
