Old websites were not charming because every design decision was good. Many were spectacularly bad. The charm came from the visible presence of decisions at all.

A marble texture chosen by one strange person can be more memorable than a flawless card component chosen by nobody in particular.

Do not worship ugliness. Do not sterilize personality either.
