UFOS, SPACE, AND IMPOSSIBLE WEATHER ================================== The spacecraft in this archive rarely behave like generic science- fiction props. They are mirrors, stage lights, weather systems, silent observers, dance-floor infrastructure, or management arriving without an appointment. The Mothership trilogy and Nitetime Invaders establish the fast, silver, retro-futurist version: searchlights, town panic, stealth movement, and an eclipse variant. Daylight Invasion makes the crucial adjustment of bringing the impossible into unforgiving morning light. Canvas in the Sky puts the craft over Renaissance figures with a funk horn section. At the gentler end, Help Is on the Way lets a UFO glow over Highwood without destroying the meditation tape. Velvet UFO Lounge and Mai Tais on Mars normalize extraterrestrial presence through good furniture and cocktail-hour restraint. The Wisconsin Supper Club Space Program treats orbit as another dinner-show destination. At the dangerous end, The Signal That Stood Still turns arrival into a siege. War at Nitetime pushes the encounter through black metal, dubstep, burning servers, and film reels under emergency protection. The 503 track goes further and converts a familiar web failure into cosmological termination. The recurring pleasure is the change of scale. A garage, lawn chair, clubhouse, or muddy festival field remains stubbornly recognizable even when a mile of metal appears above it.
