UFO PAINTINGS IN THE FIELD

Nitetime's visual department extends beyond screens. Dan Conderman
creates original acrylic paintings built around UFOs, retro science
fiction, rural landscape, and the peculiar calm that settles over a
scene after something impossible has arrived.

The paintings share the broadcast's central visual problem: how to
place extraordinary machinery in an ordinary Midwestern world
without losing either half. Chrome and light hover over barns,
fields, gatherings, and familiar horizons. People and animals do not
always flee. Sometimes the picnic continues.


PUBLIC ART
----------

The work has appeared at regional events, including an interactive
art tent at the annual Shoe Fest music festival in Illinois. In that
setting the paintings become part of a temporary station: art,
music, spectators, weather, and festival light occupying the same
patch of ground.

That physical presentation matters. Nitetime may use streams,
recordings, and old computers, but the project is not confined to a
screen. Paint on a panel and a person standing in front of it are
also part of the signal path.
