YOUR ESPERANTO COACH ==================== Published: February 22, 2025 Author: Daniel Conderman Context: Recovered Conderman.Group chatbot project description Original URL: https://conderman.group/2025/02/your-esperanto-coach/ INTRODUCING AN ESPERANTO TUTOR CHATBOT -------------------------------------- This Esperanto Tutor Chatbot was designed to guide a learner from English toward Esperanto step by step, weaving the language into the learner's interests and daily life. * Adaptive tutoring: It responds to hobbies such as music, gaming, and travel, then introduces related Esperanto vocabulary. * Progressive learning: Conversations begin in English and gradually use more Esperanto, reducing intimidation and building familiarity. * Roleplay: Learners can practice ordering coffee, discussing sports, or describing a favorite band in Esperanto. HOW IT WORKS ------------ Friendly onboarding The first few minutes are in English and focus on what the learner watches, listens to, or enjoys. The tutor then introduces Esperanto words and phrases connected to those interests. Subtle transition Everyday English words become simple Esperanto equivalents: "kanto" for "song," "pilko" for "ball," and so on. The amount and complexity of Esperanto increase with the learner's confidence. Conversation and roleplay Travel itineraries, games, and other realistic scenarios put new vocabulary to use. When a learner excels, the tutor increases the challenge; when the learner is stuck, it simplifies and supplies examples. Praise and reinforcement The tutor celebrates progress, gives constructive help, and uses spaced repetition to bring words back before they are forgotten. WHY THIS METHOD? ---------------- The design favors real conversation over rote exercises, replaces English gradually to create early confidence, and focuses sessions on subjects the learner genuinely cares about. ARCHIVIST'S NOTE ---------------- The original page included an embedded interactive chatbot.
