NPR and PBS still require member stations to maintain expensive satellite equipment just to receive programming "from the bird." That's ridiculous. There's no reason in 2025 to waste public or donor money on legacy tech when high-quality audio can be delivered online--instantly, cheaply, and reliably.
When I hear about major budget cuts to public broadcasting infrastructure like this?
Good. They needed it.
In the '90s we figured out how to move audio with the internet and MP3s, It's time they caught up too and stop wasting money.
