The tape is labeled:

Static. Three tones. Then a voice:

    This is NITETIME.NET.
    Lake Koshkonong.
    Surface Node 608.

It is the player's station identification, exactly. The tape was made
decades before Nitetime existed in its present form.

The recording does not prove time travel. It proves the network had a
record of Node 608 before the station did. At the end, a chair scrapes
the floor and someone whispers:

    It knows who is coming.
