THE MAINTENANCE PHOTOGRAPHS

The photographs show relay cabinets before and after wake cycles. In
the first, every node has a separate label. In the second, the labels
have been replaced by one blank plate.

The final photograph shows an operator's hand holding a field-transfer
tag. The face is outside the frame. On the back:

    WE CAN LEAVE THE NODE.
    WE CANNOT TAKE IT WITH US.
