THE CONTROL CHAMBER

The control chamber is smaller than the relay room and older than the
Garage above it. A green display sits in a steel frame. Behind the frame
is a wall of black resonators, each aimed at a different node.

The display shows:

    QUIET ARRAY / RETURN SUPPRESSION NETWORK
    KOSHKONONG SHIELD: DEGRADED
    RETURN ISOLATION: 71%
    SOURCE: NODE 19

The system offers three procedures. One restores the local shield. One
opens the return line. One isolates the source while preserving the
Koshkonong node.

Only one of them keeps the network from remembering itself.
