Halloween costume: the night sky
For 2025, I made a light-up costume of constellations in the night sky and documented the making-of process along the way.
This was actually the result of an AskMefi question, specifically theora55's suggestion (thank you!!). I took it and ran with it, and my costume-crafting process is documented in the imgur album.
Some project stats:
30+ hours of work
$200 in materials
7 broken fingernails
41 cable ties
~18 feet of fashion tape
1 very rewarding and fun-to-wear costume

It's beautiful! Incredible! My grandfather was a navigator on US Navy ships before, during, and after WWII and could name constellations because of having done star sightings and I suspect he'd have had fun identifying the parts of your dress.
imgur is apparently blocked in the UK outright so perhaps imgur is not the best place to put this up for permanence and availability. though I also understand VPN usage in the UK is rising rapidly
