This is really fun because it combines a knowledge of food with a knowledge of geography. I got 12,000 points. I am a super foodie. Thanks for the dopamine hit!

I was rubbish on the daily play but got 18k on the quick play. Helps to get a big cheese wheel with Parmagiano clearly visible.

The first image I got was from the Phillipines, a nation I know absolutely nothing about. So that set me back. But it was fun and now I know a bit about the Phillipines. Will play again tomorrow.

I had a great streak going but failed on a purportedly American dish of ham stuffed with kale. That ain't real.

Filipino food is amazing. Leche Flan is probably the best dessert in the world.

I did the quick round, not a great score. but all guesses were hot or warm. I at least know regional ingredients.

Some recipes could be literally anywhere. Meat cooked with veg in water?

I really enjoy the granularity of the results reporting. It's interesting to see which foods lent themselves to better first guesses.

Finland, I keep forgetting. They will have to give in and have a dish from Indonesia because I keep guessing that, right? Over 4 rounds there were dishes from Iceland and Germany in 2 rounds. No Central or South America, and how in the hecking is a drink made with Midori considered Australian?! Surely it was invented out of absolute desperation in the mid-50's (at the end of the night) in order to match some home decor?
Fun, though, thanks for posting!

I needed all 5 guesses for the 1st one but got the next 2 in 1 guess each. If I'd seen the name I probably would have guessed that one a bit sooner. Something to check for next time.

I am terrible at geography but excellent at food. I am cheating and looking at a map because fuck if I know what countries are close to what on a scale any more granular than continents. But anyway it was fun. I appreciate that I can vote if a dish is yummy or not and see the general consensus - I got a funky pork blood thing from the Netherlands that I would absolutely chow down on and got to give it a yum in defiance of all the passes it has already. I might actually be able to learn big picture geography this way, since food so easily sticks in my brain.

Ooh this is a great game to play before dinner.

Thank you! This is fun.

I did the daily and the first one I got immediately because it's something I love.

The second I could kind of place in terms of region but I was never going to get the specific country.

The third gave me nothing at all for a hint.

This is fun.

Midori is a standard when you go on Schoolie's Week in Australia (celebration of end of high school in which the now graduated Year 12 students descend on the Gold Coast to get pissed, at least in QLD). Green vomit everywhere.

Never had Malaysian food, but I got bakkwa right after second guess. I knew it had to be Thai or Thai adjacent because of the ingredients. I love Thai. But Thailand was wrong. Aha Malaysian (and south Chinese)!

Oh man, I want to try that mahdjouba! Reminds me of naan, but it sounds even tastier.

Some rounds are easier than others because I can guess India or Brazil and it's like, yes, there are approximately ten million micro cuisines in this enormously diverse country, either that's the right guess or a neighbor. Others are like, you idiot what do you mean you don't know this specific olive pizza is all over Paraguay??? Why on earth do you keep guessing Mediterranean countries?

Food travels in so many interesting ways.

I got better at it once I realized that it might repeat a country within your five dishes. At first I thought all 5 would definitely be different, so I was like, damn I'm sure this must be from India but I already had one from India so...?

Hot tip if you're a school leaver and happen to have a friend who works at a 7-Eleven : the Slurpee syrup comes in casks. If you should somehow acquire one of these, you can mix it with Midori to make very sugary shooters.

I guessed United States for shrimp asopao and they told me I wasn't even close! So I made a bunch of other wrong guesses and was told it was actually from Puerto Rico! Come on! I had to throw my laptop in the river because I was so angry.
