Sumerian with subtitles

The premier of Dumuzi's Dream and Dumuzi's Demons a short film in Sumerian [youtube 25min PG-13 - zombies] will be kicking off in a couple of hours time in Trinity College Dublin. Starring Gwenhwyfar Ferch Rhys as Dumuzi [whom MetaPrev] and Olivia Romao as Ĝeštinana. Your Proto-Indo-European phrasebook won't help because Sumerian is an Asian language isolate. Subtitles in Magyar and Mandarin . . . and English, tho.

i first got into sumerian from cuneiform & john allegro. (there's also the simonomicon.) I just found out about this, so is sumerian having its moment?

I had to look up Dumuzi (not trying to look at the video at work) and found I knew him under the name "Tammuz."

Wikipedia says that eventually he moved West and took up the name "Adonis."

Interesting hearing the oldest written language actually spoken. Intellectually, that is. Emotionally, it was the same as hearing any other language I don't know. Sometimes my shallowness shocks even me.
