I would like to invite Trombone Guy to all of my future parties. Thanks for sharing!

Ha! The YT algo fed me this after I watched Seatbelts performing Tank from Cowboy Bebop.

Haha, their energy is so great! My partner and I got to see them a few years ago and yeah, excellent show, highly recommend seeing them live if you ever get the chance.

Delightful. And first takes is a great idea for a channel.

I could stub my toe and spot my cat shredding the arm of the sofa and this video would pull me back into good vibes territory

I kind of want to ask the band if they've ever performed at a private function for a.. certain type of entrepreneur you'd find in Japan

Ooh, ooh! Is this where we post cool Japanese videos??

My current fav is Open Reel Ensemble. And then there's this utterly sublime cover of No Woman No Cry by Nenes in the Okinawan dialect of Japanese. Probably everyone has seen When you're overqualified for the job by now. And, to be self-indulgent, here is my favorite J-pop song from when I lived in Japan by Puffy. It's about checking out of your busy life and just going to the beach to chill and eat seafood while watching the waves go fuwafuwa.

If you want an utterly stupid song to jump around your room and yell to, look up "Fuji-san" by Denki Groove (no good videos, this is a streaming music mission). It's about Mt. Fuji and the lyrics are like:
FUJI-SAN! FUJI-SAN! IT'S TALL! IT'S TALL! FUJI-SAN!
(and other equally profound pronouncements)

The asanoha sashiko patterns on their jackets are sharp, sharp, sharp! (Wondering if it's a sly hint towards cannabis, since asanoha is a stylized hemp leaf ...)

I'm not sure any video from Japan could be cooler than Godzilla vs. Mito Kōmon (Takeshita Shinya, c.1991)

Browsing THE FIRST TAKE last night, I will add that I really enjoyed Creepy Nuts's live version of "Bling‐Bang‐Bang‐Born ". I had assumed they had two vocalists! I was wrong.

Seeing the 20th Anniversary show for Kemuri, with special guests Less Than Jake, Reel Big Fish, and (holy shit) Skankin Pickle was a highlight for me. One of the best parts: Kemuri has an awesome, relaxed instrumental called Sun Set, and at the show, they brought the horn sections from the three other bands on stage, and it's on YouTube. One of the rare videos where I can say "I was at that show!"

I could do this all day, but I have to go teach a class. Does the video for Bloodthirsty Butchers' Jack Nicolson capture my mood? I plead the fifth.

(It's a fantastic song with a perfect video)

Having now seen this, I think you are right.
