Feelin' 70 Up, I'm feelin' 70 Up
What remains at the heart of the films will be questions of class, education, wealth and the all important thread of whether it holds true to say: "Give me a child until he is seven and I will show you the man." from ITV's beloved 7 Up series will end after 62 years with "epic and moving" final chapter 70 Up [Radio Times]

I am so excited for this! I've been watching the films as they are released ever since 35 Up. Such a great series!

I can't begin to imagine how complex the experience must be for the participants, but I am so, so grateful that so many of them have continued with the series. It is a great gift to us.

I haven't followed the series beyond a few checkpoints into adulthood but you only need to see parts of a single episode to appreciate the undertaking
really glad this happened

I can't wait to see it! (I hope it's going to be readily accessible in the US.) TV is so often thought of as disposable and ephemeral and the fact that this has endured so long is truly amazing.

I love the series, but the title of the post has me hearing Geoffrey Holder saying, "Crisp and clean, and no caffeine" in my head over and over.

Oh my gosh - these people who have shared so much of themselves. I'm crying just looking at the photo of them raising their glasses, with joy at who's there and sadness at who's not. Thank you dear people for letting us share in your challenges, empathize with your choices and fates, celebrate your accomplishments and, above all, see ourselves in all of your selves. The Up Series is one of the few things I hope lasts well beyond our time on Earth, as a record of what it means/meant to be human.
