Coyotes are just so great,
One ran in front of me this morning.
I don't have little dogs, that might be prey. So I am on team Coyotes,

A friend on an island in Puget Sound had a couple of coyotes, one of which had an obviously broken leg, take up residence in a dense stand of birches on her property. They stayed for about three weeks and the one with intact legs was obviously bringing food to the other one which just hung out in the birches. Then one day she looked up through the window over her kitchen sink as she was doing her dishes and saw them slipping through the deer fence, both moving easily. She figured they were a mated pair.
Right after they got there the healthy one made a point of coming out while her husband was trimming some shrubs and sat about 50 away from him until he looked up and kind of started when he saw it. Then it got up and acted like it was going to run off but instead it spun around a couple of times and then sat back down looking at him. He held its gaze for a few seconds and then went back to work, and the coyote went back into the birch grove.
