All the Empty Rooms
Gracie Muehlberger wrote letters to her future self and stored them in a multicoloured trinket box on her dresser.
A new Netflix documentary features the empty bedrooms of American children killed in school shootings.

Steve Hartman did a segment on CBS Sunday Morning on this about a year ago. Devastating. Thank you for sharing; I was not aware they were making a longer form doc.

Thank you for posting. These stories break my heart every time. I have made a pledge to myself to not look away. Honestly, I always say to myself "that will be too sad" and then...remember why I need to engage. It is the scourge of American society. We have lost the thread.

I saw it yesterday. My review:
ALL THE EMPTY ROOMS (2025) is a new meta-documentary about this most American sport, School Shooting. A CBS reporter who specializes in "human interest good news stories" started an art project visiting the bedrooms of some of the victims (4), and take (beautiful!) photographs of what's left of the dead children. It's tragic and heart-breaking, and very emotional. (But it would be so much more effective if it focused even more on the broken lives, and much less on the journalist's process in creating it.) 9/10.
"America" is such a fucked up Death Cult. The complicity of the media, politics, business and society at large to tolerate and accept this pervasive gun death is pretty amazing.
