# The AI revolt and quarry

It seems there is a mounting feeling of resentment toward AI and
people are taking action to block known aggressors, myself included.

The recent post by Slugmax[1] mentioning robots.txt and User-agent's
got me thinking about Quarry, my gopher search engine. It hadn't
been identifying itself as I had left the user agent to the curl
default.  I've now changed that so it clearly identifies itself as
"Quarry - gopher search-engine".

When I wrote quarry[2] I added reading and honouring of robots.txt.
I can't honestly remember how good it is but, it should be respectful
of your Disallow: rules. If you find it's misbehaving, please let
me know before you condemn it to the firewall blacklist! Better
still, help to improve it.
