# No more gutenberg gopher Unfortunately Project Gutenberg have now shut down their gopher server rendering my unofficial Gutenberg search front end to their catalogue on gopher useless. Ben Collver had warned me that this was on the cards but, I had no answer at the time how to continue the service. Ben mentioned that their catalogue was available to rsync but that it contained several terabytes of files. I just don't have the storage capacity to hold a mirror that I could make accessible via gopher. Suggestions would be appreciated. I have already lost two other gopher services due to API changes or shutdown of services. The weather info for my location, that I had for some time displaying ascii weather forecast images, provided by the Met Office. I signed up to their new Free-Plan but, couldn't find a comparable data set to the one I had been using. Also the pod cast search API I was using has closed down and again, I couldn't find something to easily replace it. Dependence on third parties is always a problem.
