$1.36 Εκατομμύρια ακριβότερη η ανέγερση της Παναγίτσας με πολλά

Σε συνέντευξη τύπου που παραχώρησαν στελέχη της Ελληνικής Κοινότητας
Μόντρεαλ στις 19 Φεβρουαρίου 2018 σε μέσα ενημέρωσης και στο κοινό,
έγινε γνωστό ότι το τελικό κόστος για την ανέγερση του Ιερού Ναού
Κοίμησης της Θεοτόκου ("Παναγίτσα") που καταστράφηκε από πυρκαγιά το
2015, ανέρχεται στα $4.600.978, δηλαδή, 1 εκατομμύριο περισσότερο από
τις αρχικές προβλέψεις. Η ασφάλεια κάλυψε $3.238.111.
Στη συνέντευξη τύπου παραδέχτηκε η Κοινότητα ότι υπάρχουν πάρα πολλά
αρχιτεκτονικά λάθη και προβλήματα, τα οποία τα συζητάνε με τους
εργολάβους, αρχιτέκτονες και δικηγόρους ώστε να βρεθούν λύσεις. Μεταξύ
άλλων, η σκεπή μπάζει νερό και σπάσανε σωλήνες νερού, με αποτέλεσμα το
νερό και οι πλημμύρες να προκαλούν πολλές ζημιές.
Μολονότι ότι σήμερα το ποσό της ανέγερσης ανέρχεται στα $4.6
Εκατομμύρια, η Κοινότητα ανέφερε ότι πρόσλαβε την εταιρία που τους
παρουσίασε το φτηνότερο κόστος την εποχή εκείνη γι' αυτά τα έργα.
Το όνομα του πολιτικού μηχανικού Γιάννη Βάθη επικαλέστηκε επανειλημμένες
φορές στην συνέντευξη τύπου, ο οποίος προσφέρθηκε να κάνει τα σχέδια
δωρεάν και ήταν παρόν στην αίθουσα.
Μιας και αναφέρθηκε τόσες φορές το όνομα του Πολιτικού Μηχανικού
Γιάννη Βάθη, οι δημοσιογράφοι όλων των Μεγάλων Ελληνικών Μέσων
Ενημέρωσης Επιρροής της παροικίας (Mike-FM 105.1, CFMB 1280 AM και
εφημερίδα ΧΡΟΝΙΚΑ) ζήτησαν ευθέως ότι επιθυμούν να ακούσουν την
άποψή του, ενώ ο εκδότης της εβδομαδιαίας Εφημερίδας ΤΑ ΝΕΑ
διαμαρτυρήθηκε ότι οι παρευρισκόμενοι δεν επιτρέπεται να είναι
βουβοί εφόσον καλούνται στην αίθουσα.
Ο Πολιτικός Μηχανικός Γιάννης Βάθης αποπειράθηκε επανειλημμένες φορές να
απαντήσει σε όλα όσα αναφέρθηκαν στο όνομά του και για τη συμμετοχή του,
αλλά δεν του επετράπη να απαντήσει και του αφαιρέθηκε ο λόγος.
Τέλος, δεν επετράπη στην Εφημερίδα ΧΡΟΝΙΚΑ να θέσει ερώτηση μέσω του
κυρίου Βάθη που εξουσιοδότησε ο Εκδότης στο όνομά της, ως
εμπειρογνώμονας στον τομέα.

In a Press Conference presented by executives of the Hellenic Community
of Montreal on 19 February 2018 before Local Greek Media and the public,
it became known that the final cost to rebuilt The Dormition of Virgin
Mary ("Panagitsa") Church that was destroyed by fire in 2015, costed
$4.600.978, 1 million more from the initial forecasts, while the
Insurance company covered $3.238.111.
In the Press Conference, the Hellenic Community of Montreal admitted
that there are a lot of architectural errors and many problems, which
are being discussed with the contractors, architects and lawyers to find
solutions. Among others, the roof leaks and water pipes break, as a
result, water and floods cause a lot of damage.
Despite the fact that today the cost to rebuilt the church rised to
$4.6M, the Organization said that it hired the company that presented to
them the cheapest bid at the time for that job.
The name of Civil Engineer John Vathis which offered Technical
Drawings free of charge, was repeatedly invoked during the Press
Conference, was present in the Room.
Since the name of Civil Engineer John Vathis was mentioned so many
times in the Press Conference, the journalists of all Influential Greek
Media of the Community (Mike-FM 105.1 FM, CFMB 1280 AM and newspaper
The Montreal Greek Times) specifically asked they wish to hear his
opinion, while the Publisher of the Greek weekly TA NEA said that from
the moment the conference is open for anyone to attend, attendees
cannot be asked to remain silent.
Civil Engineer John Vathis attempted repeatedly to answer what was being
said at the Press Conference concerning his involvement and his name,
but was not allowed to answer and cut.
In conclusion, The newspaper "The Montreal Greek Times" was refused the
right to ask a question via Mr. Vathis who was authorized by it's
Publisher to act on its behalf as a subject-matter expert.
