# Whatis A Useful Git Commit Message
A useful git(1) commit message contains of (roughly)
three parts:
1. A subject line (50 chars. max.)
2. A blank line
3. A clear description
## Short(!) Subject Line
When you think of a commit message, think of a useful
e-mail: It should have a subject line, which summarizes
its content.
In this case, it is the change you want to contribute.
If you are able to write one in less than 50 chars, you
are on the save side.
## Following Blank
A following blank should be used to separate a subject line
from it's follwing description.
## Thorough Description
Describe your change as concise and as clear as somebody
needs it in order to familiarise h(im|er)self with it.
Assume only basic coding/language knowledge.
Use links and refererences to make your commit message
a future contributor's best friend.
## Additionally...
... use UTF-8 for character encoding.
## RTFM
git-commit(1) has a man page. Read it.
