Date: Thu, 05 Mar 92 12:25:23 EST From: Eric Iverson Subject: scripting-level-v1.0.cpt.hqx ScriptingLevel v1.0 One of the most frequently asked questions about HyperCard 2.x which ships with the Mac is "Why can't I select the scripting level?" or "what is the command that allows me to select Scripting on the User Preferences card?" The non-developer's version has a User Preferences card in its Home stack with no apparent way of selecting user levels above 1 (browsing) or 2 (typing). If you know the magic command, you can type it into the message box when you are at the User Preferences card (and nowhere else) to reveal buttons which allow selection of user levels up to 5 (scripting) which is necessary to edit scripts freely. Not everyone knows the magic command, or can always remember it, or where to execute it. The purpose of ScriptingLevel v1.0 is to execute the command for HyperCard users who do not own the developer's version. I hope it will also help reduce the number of times the above questions are asked. Please download this stack and leave copies of it where users of the non-developer's version can get to it. This version 1.0 replaces the previous un-numbered version. The previous version had a small bug which made it somewhat useless.
