       I wish I had figured out this Photoshop filter effect when I did
       Mom's panel (Mom, I promise an outstanding panel for your next
       one -- you were my test case), but I promise to do something like
       this next time around because it's perfect and despite cliche is
       hardly hokey. Happy Father's Day, Dad! We'll run a few through
       down at the range.
        
       Yes, that's a ground squirrel on his shoulder, one of a number of
       odd charges we have taken care of and rehabilitated, including a
       litter of opossums, multiple hummingbirds, some crows, a
       red-tailed hawk (mean creature), owls, you name it. Dad was not
       only a veteran, he is a veterinarian, thus our strange
       houseguests. However, the aforementioned skunk was not one of
       these; Dad caught it a few days ago trying to get it out of the
       garden, and found out the hard way that skunks will still spray
       even if they can't lift their tails. Pro tip and true story.
