Weather Situation A trough of low pressure over eastern Victoria will continue eastwards overnight into the Tasman Sea. A high pressure system moves over waters to the south of the state to be in the Tasman Sea on Monday. A northerly airstream on Tuesday precedes another trough moving in from the west and reaching central districts in the afternoon and remaining districts on Wednesday. A ridge of high pressure moves into the west on Wednesday and more broadly over the state on Thursday. Forecast for the rest of Sunday 25 January Possible thunderstorms with little to no rain about the far northeast. Dry and mostly clear elsewhere. Local areas of smoke. Possible area of raised dust about the north. Moderate northwesterly winds about the north and east, ahead of a south to southwesterly change extending throughout by evening. Forecast for Monday 26 January Hot to very hot. Cloudy at first about Gippsland with possible light morning showers, otherwise dry and mostly sunny. Possible morning fog patches in the south. Local areas of smoke. Maximum temperatures well above average. Light to moderate east to southeasterly winds, fresh about Gippsland coasts, tending moderate southeast to southwesterly about the north and west during the afternoon. Forecast for Tuesday 27 January Hot to very hot. Possible thunderstorms with little to no rain about the west during the afternoon and evening. Dry and mostly sunny otherwise. Freshening northeast to northwesterly winds ahead of fresh and gusty southwest to southerly change in the west during the afternoon and reaching central districts in the evening.
