Weather Situation A weak ridge extends across eastern Queensland from a high in the Tasman Sea connected to a high south of the Great Australian Bight. Meanwhile, a surface trough and associated dry line lies over the far southwest of the state, extending into northern New South Wales. From Friday afternoon, a heat low is forecast to develop within the trough and linger about southwest Queensland before the trough gradually moves eastwards during the weekend.
