Weather Situation The monsoon trough extends over Cape York Peninsula. Weak tropical low 18U lies within the trough near the Gulf of Carpentaria for the next few days, and may move west from Wednesday. The trough over the east coast will move north from Tuesday. A ridge persists over the rest of the state. A southeasterly wind change will cross the southeast on Tuesday, moving north along the coast on Wednesday. A weak trough will extend over the southern interior on Wednesday and move into the far southwest on Thursday. A high will move into the Tasman Sea on Thursday, maintaining the ridge.
