Weather Situation A broad trough of low pressure over southern districts will slowly move north towards the base of the Top End over the weekend and early next week. Forecast for the rest of Saturday 13 December A slight to medium chance of showers and thunderstorms, increasing to a medium to high chance in the Daly and Gregory Districts. Thunderstorms in the Simpson and Lasseter Districts may be gusty with little, if any, rainfall. Areas of raised dust in the southern Simpson District. Very hot in the Simpson, southern Arnhem, western Tanami, northwest Simpson and southeast Barkly Districts, and a little cooler in the Lasseter and southwest Simpson Districts. Light to moderate west to northwesterly winds ahead of a moderate to fresh and gusty southeast to southwesterly change extending northwards over the Lasseter and Simpson Districts during the day. Forecast for Sunday 14 December A slight to medium chance of showers and thunderstorms, increasing to a medium to high chance in the Tiwi, Daly, Gregory and northern Tanami Districts. Thunderstorms south of Barrow Creek may be gusty with little, if any, rainfall. Very hot in the southern Arnhem District and a little cooler in the Simpson District. Moderate to fresh and gusty east to southeasterly winds south of Tennant Creek. Light to moderate southwest to northwesterly winds north of Tennant Creek, tending southeast to northeasterly from the afternoon. Forecast for Monday 15 December Sunny south of Alice Springs. A slight to medium chance of showers and thunderstorms elsewhere, increasing to a medium to high chance in the Daly, Gregory and northern Tanami Districts. Thunderstorms south of Barrow Creek may be gusty with little, if any, rainfall. Very hot in the southern Arnhem, southeast Barkly and far eastern Simpson Districts. Light to moderate east to southeasterly winds south of Daly Waters, tending fresh and gusty in the far southeast Simpson District during the late afternoon and evening and south of Barrow Creek during the morning.
