Biden to Address Food Insecurity, Economy on 2nd Full Day in Office

   U.S. presidentJoe Bidenis expected tosign at least two executive orders
   Fridayaimed atprovidingfinancial and food security to
   familiesimpactedby thecoronaviruspandemic.

   Thenewly inauguratedpresidentwillorderthe Department of
   Agriculturetoexpandbenefitsinthecountry'sfood programin one of the
   orders.Manypeoplewhohave been laid off from their jobs because of the
   pandemichavesought help finding food.

   Inaddition,thenewpresidentis seeking a 15% increase ina schoolmeals
   program that began after the pandemic. Bidenofficials say the increase
   in the school-based program could result inafamilywiththree
   childrenreceivingmore than $100 in extra benefits every two months.

   Pandemic stimulus checks
   Anexecutive orderonpandemic stimulus checksseekstodeliverthechecks to
   people who are eligible to receivethem buthave not.

   "Many Americans faced challenges receiving the first round of direct
   payments and as many aseightmillion eligiblehouseholdsdidnot receive
   the payments issued in March,"a White Housefact sheetsaid.

   Also Friday,Biden will have his first conversation with a foreign
   leader. The president is scheduled to have atelephonecall with Canadian
   Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
