Mexico to Extradite Drug Lord to US

   The Mexican governmentis set toextradite to the United States Jaime
   GonzálezDurán,one of the founders oftheLos Zetas drug cartel.

   Duran, who has been in custody in Mexico for 12 yearsranked third among
   theleadersofthe Los Zetas cartelbehind HeribertoLazcano-Lazcano, who
   was killed eight years ago,andMiguelTreviñoMorales, who
   wasextraditedto the United Statesnearlythreeyearsago.

   Duran is expected to face multiple chargesinthe UnitedStates,
   includingcrimes of conspiracy,drug trafficking ofcocaine and
   marijuanaandmoney laundering.

   Duran, who is on the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administrationmost wanted
   list,is being heldatafederal prison inHermosillo, Sonora.

   By late Monday, the DEA had yet to release a statement in response the
   Mexican court clearing the way for Duran tobroughtthe UnitedStates.
