   At least 110 people are feared dead ina weekend attack on
   farmersinthenortheastpart ofNigeriablamed onIslamicjihadiststhat are
   active in the area.

   United Nations humanitarian coordinatorfor the African
   country,EdwardKallon, said in a statement he was "outraged and
   horrified by the gruesome attack against civilians"in the village
   ofKoshobenearBornoState capital Maiduguri.

   "At least 110 civilians were ruthlessly killed,and many others were
   wounded in this attack,"Kallonsaid, adding that it was the most violent
   attack on innocent civilians this year.He called "for the perpetrators
   of this heinous and senseless act to be brought to justice."

   Late Sunday,the United Nations Secretary-GeneralAntonio
   Guterresspokespersonissued a statement in which he stronglycondemnedthe
   "horrific attack on rice farm workers inKoshobevillage."
