US, Britain, Russia Plan Return to Work Despite Continued Epidemic

   The United States, Britain and Russia are preparing to return their
   people to work despitetheongoing COVID-19pandemic.

   U.S. PresidentDonaldTrump said Monday the country is conducting about
   300,000 coronavirus tests a day and willsoonpassa total of10
   milliontestsconducted,which he said wasmore than any other country.

   A senior administration official told reporters thata new antigen test,
   approvedby a company called Quidel, will speed up
   thetestingprocessfurtherbecausethistestlooksonlyforthe presence of the
   viral protein in the nose, unlike the more complicatedand
   time-consumingnucleic acidtests.

   "The machines forthese tests--there are already 20,000 of them out in
   the United States because they're a commonly used platform for things
   like flu testing and strep throat," the officialsaid.

   The administration expects about 9 million new teststobeavailable
   everymonth.
