Coronavirus Reaches White House

   Thecoronavirus has reached the White House as the administration mulls
   reopening parts of theUnited States,thecountry thatleads the world in
   the number of COVID-19 cases and deaths from thecoronavirus.

   At least twoWhite Houseaides have tested positive for the virus: a
   valet forU.S.President Donald Trump andthepress secretary for Vice
   President Mike Pence.

   Trump confirmed Friday thatKatie Miller, press secretary to
   VicePresident Pence and the wife of Trump aide Stephen Miller,hastested
   positive.

   A spokesman forMike Pencesaid the vice president has tested negative
   and will return to the White House on Monday.

   "Vice President Pencewill continue to follow the advice of the White
   House Medical Unit and is not in quarantine," spokesman Devin O'Malley
   said in the statement Sunday.

   Dr Anthony Fauci-- aWhite Housechiefexpert inthefight against the
   coronavirus - is self-isolating although he has tested negative.

   More than 1.3 million people in the U.S. have been infected andmore
   than80,000 people have died.

   New York has been the hardest hitU.S.state in the coronavirus outbreak,
   with 26,670 deaths and 335,395 cases as of Sunday.

   But partsofNew Yorkand neighboring statesalsoarelooking into reopening
   some businesses on May 15, after some states with lower figures have
   begun relaxing lockdowns.

   As part oftheplan,New York Governor Andrew Cuomo orderedmandatory
   coronavirus testing twice a week for workers at care homes in hisstate.

   In his Sunday briefing, Cuomosaidthatcare facilities, some 600 of
   them,that fail to meetthe newrequirements will lose their operating
   licenses.The rate of new infections in New York is declining, but the
   death toll is growing, especially in elderly people homes.
