Dozens of Mexico City Police Protest Working Conditions VOA News Dozens of Mexico City police officers demanding better working conditions held a protest march, where they called on the city's mayor stop criminalizing their work. Members of the city's prosecutor's office joinedthedemonstration in front of city hall Monday. Some of the police accuse Mayor Claudia Sheinbaum of standing up more for the people who promote uprisingsandviolence than she does the police. Police officer and demonstrator Jose Alberto PeƱaloza Saturnino said, officers feel powerless not being able to stop them. Police also are calling for the release of officers involved in the beating of a young girl during a march in Mexico City. The mayor said no formal complaint has been made to the government and that she will back police not linked to corruption or abuse. .
