Competition Heats Up to Host US Troops in Europe

   WASHINGTON/PENTAGON - There may be some additional competition for the
   thousands of U.S. troops that could soon be on their way out of
   Germany.

   Poland is already in line to receive some of the 9,500 troops that U.S.
   President Donald Trump plans to withdraw from Germany following
   disagreements over defense spending levels. Now, Latvia says it, too,
   would like to be under consideration.
