Judge Blocks Trump Admin From Stripping Health Care Protections From
Transgenders

   transgenders.

   Judge Frederic Block'slast-minutedecision puts on holda rulethatwas to
   havetakeneffectTuesday. Block wrote hebelievesthe rulemay not
   beenforceableafter theJuneSupreme
   Courtrulingoutlawingworkplacediscriminationagainstgays andtransgender
   men and women.

   "When the Supreme Court announces a major decision, it seems a sensible
   thing to pause and reflect on the decision's impact," Judge Block
   wroteMonday. "Since HHS (HealthandHuman Services) has been unwilling to
   take that path voluntarily, the court now imposes it."
