Man Kills Two, is Shot Down in Marseille Train Station by VOA News A man killed two women in a knife attack at Marseille's main train station before being shot by a French soldier, police said Sunday. National police said the gunmen had been "neutralized and shot down", that train service had been interrupted, and advised people to avoid the station. France's interior minister Gerard Collomb said he was headed to Marseille "immediately." The Paris prosecutor's office said a counter-terrorism probe has been opened, though no motive was yet given for the attack. Police sources called the incident a "likely terrorist attack", and witnesses reported that the suspect shouted "Allahu Akbar", "God is great", as he carried out the attack. France has been in a state of emergency since gunmen stormed the offices of Charlie Hebdo magazine in Paris in 2015. Since then, Islamist militants have carried out several attacks in the country, including an attack that killed 86 people in Nice when a truck drove through a crowd celebrating Bastille day last year.
